Rights Respecting Schools at Gordon Primary School
Gordon Primary School is currently a Rights Respecting: Silver Award holder. Keep coming back to these pages as we share our journey to Gold!
We are very proud to be working towards achieving the Rights Respecting School award status. Through doing so, we aim to complement our ethos by continuing to ensure that our children are safe, healthy and happy. Through this work, we will also continue to support the development of positive relationships and engage children to be active in school life and in the wider world.
The values set out within this programme are very closely matched to our own and, thus, we are actively ensuring that children understand their rights and responsibilities as outlined in the United Nations' Convention on the Rights of the Child.
In addition to class charters, which have been created in each class, relevant articles from the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child are made explicit through the teaching of the curriculum.
